Chris Eggleston ran a brand new race car at the SRL Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway, and sometimes those new race cars bring along gremlins.  That was the case for Eggleston as he started 22nd and finished 26th.

“This track is so tough and it just changed so much from last year,” said the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion.  “It’s finally getting so wear in it and some character in it, which is good.  We were just slowly finding some speed in it.  We were starting to march our way up to the front there and then we had some ignition problems come into play.”

Eggleston said even though the finish wasn’t what he’d hoped for, it’s still something to build upon.

Now Eggleston’s focus turns to defending his NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship from a year ago.  With that being his main place of attention, he is unsure when his next Late Model start will be.

“The Showdown was the big race that we wanted to make sure we were prepared for. We’ll get the Late Model back to the shop and try to get it fixed up and piece together some races. Mostly we’ll just stay in town because that’s all we’ve got time for.”
